Warranty Terms and Condition

  1. Warranty Period Comprises of FREE REPLACEMENT and PRO-RATA. The label on every GOODYEAR battery specifies the total number of months covered by the free replacement period and the Pro-Rata period for batteries fitted in private cars, multi-utility vehicles, two-wheelers. For pro rata calculation refer Annexure I

 

  1. The warranty is limited to 12 months from the date of sale for the battery fitted in commercial vehicle or metered taxi.

 

  1. In all cases the warranty is applicable from the date of sale to the original purchaser.

 

  1. Online Battery Warranty registration is mandatory at the time of battery purchase to avail warranty benefits. For registration methods follow options provided at the back of the warranty card. For any further support required visit our nearest dealer or contact at the Toll-Free number.

 

  1. It is mandatory to produce the warranty registration proof in the event of arising claim within the warranty period.

 

  1. The warranty is valid for the correct fitment only as per OEM recommendation.

 

  1. AIL reserves the right to amend this warranty policy.

 

  1. In the event of any complaint, the battery must be returned in untampered & in complete condition to the Company’s Authorised Distributor /Dealer. Replaced /rectified/ discounted battery will be F.O.R.(Freight on receipt) to the same point.

 

  1. The warranty for battery being replaced at free of cost (FOC) shall commence from the date of sale of original battery, as stated at the time of warranty registration and not from the date of replacement given. No new warranty card will be issued in such cases.

 

  1. For New Battery purchased under Pro-rata warranty Settlement, a fresh warranty will be applicable from Date of purchase.

 

  1. Compensation on Pro-Rata warranty period is deemed as a rebate on purchase of a same or equivalent type of new GOODYEAR battery.

 

  1. This Pro-Rata percentage discount will be applied on Prevailing MRP of the same or equivalent battery type received under warranty at the time of clam Settlement.

 

  1. The Battery is warranted against any manufacturing defects arising during warranty period. The warranty is limited to all defects arising from the use of faulty material or poor workmanship. Consequential liabilities will not be entertained.

 

  1. The right to determine whether the battery needs Repair, rectification, free replacement, or Pro-rata Warranty settlement, rests with the sole discretion of the company.

 

  1. The Defective Battery arising out of free replacement or Pro-rata settlement will become the property of company and no scrap rebate will be given for it.

 

  1. In the event of any particular battery model being phased out, the company reserves the right to provide another model of the same capacity & suited to the vehicle, as settlement of warranty

 

  1. AIL responsibility or liability is limited to the terms of this warranty and shall not be responsible for personal injuries or consequential or resultant liability, damage or loss arising from any other cause, whatsoever

 

  1. All the liabilities under this warranty shall cease: –

 

  • If the battery is Out of warranty period.
  • If battery is transferred to third party.
  • If the battery is being used in an application other than recommended by company application chart.
  • If the battery is used in non-vehicular application.
  • If battery is destroyed/damaged in an accident such as fire or explosion or collision.
  • If damage to the battery due to improper Service of battery by unauthorized dealers/auto electricians, Improper handling willful abuse, faulty electrical system, Improper Recharging-overcharge, undercharge or reverse charge at the time of bench charging condition.
  • Breakage of container and cover or breakage/deformation of terminal due to mechanical shock like hammering.
  • If damage to battery due to fitment of additional accessories in vehicle other than original fitment. If tampering of Manufacturing Code, Serial Number, Date of Sale, Barcode Sticker, is noticed. If battery top cover is removed or tampered.
  • Improper Topping up-Battery has been refilled with additives, dopes or any other substance besides distilled water that may have contaminated the battery. For topping up purposes pure distilled water conforming to IS specification number 1069-1964 must be used.
  • Failure of a battery due to inadequate recharging and not as per the recharging parameters mentioned in the product leaflet
  • Batteries are operated in discharged condition for long periods.

 

  1. Adjudication and settlement of claim will take couple of days as the battery has to be tested for the reported failure.

 

  1. Batteries are non-disposable Customer is required to return battery, after end of life, to nearest GOODYEAR Battery dealer against rebate or cash back’ as notified by the Company.

 

  1. Any local Tax /Duty which becomes leviable on the battery under repair or replacement shall be borne by the customer.

 

  1. Customers are deemed to have read., understood & agreed to these warranty terms & conditions at the time of purchase.

 

  1. All disputes or differences arising out of use of battery shall have a jurisdiction at courts of Gurugram, Haryana

 

Note –

  1. Company reserves rights to change the warranty terms and conditions without prior notice.
  2. Customers are required to contact their purchase point to report your complaint and for faster adjudication. Alternatively, they can contact us on mentioned battery helpline number or visit our website. Same contacts can be used for escalation of complaints as well.
